Re: UrQs
Generally agreed. Ur-Qs can be *very reliable* daily drivers. My '85 was my
one-and-only daily driver from purchase in 87 till 93, when it was replaced
with the '84 4KQ for winter-beater duties. I ran it up from 52k mi when
purchased in '87 to ~190k miles with no major repairs or problems. It was a
VERY RELIABLE and dependable daily driver. I do hear that the '85s corrected
most/all of the electrical problems (I've had none) and the exh manifold
leakage/cracking and head warpage problems were all but 100% corrected by
'85. At > 192k miles still running the orig clutch, the head has never been
off and only replaced the brakes and suspension as upgrades. Whattah awesome
daily driver to boot! Nothing compares in owner and driver satisfaction!
Cash offers to buy her are a daily routine.
BTW - the KUQEFH is done (!!!) and I picked it up Saturday. Enjoyed the
weekend tearing all the access off the orig engine and getting ready for the
big transplant.....thinking seriously now about doing the complete R&R
myself.....
Complete specs on the KUQEFH to follow.....
