Anyone ever tell you you are a wise a** Eric! :)

There are ways around the puller for the crank nut.. 
1) Lock your flywheel @ the bell housing, otherwise you'll spin your 
engine, and overpower your clutch...

2) If you're really sick, put in your socket, and crank the engine, the 
sharp snap will break free the nut. I dont recommend this, but it does 
work if you are careful
