the point about the 30valve v6 is that the torque is *greater* than the 12 valve, and occurs more evenly. it is 193hp in euro trim. the motoring press says that it is a much better motor than the 12 valve. i haven't driven one yet, but should get the chance within the next month.
i agree with you about the vr6. it's a nice, flexible motor. my criticism of the 12 valve audi is that it is *slow* to change revs etc. probably a heavy flywheel allied with a recalcitrant computer.
