Scott, I have my dad's older 82 audi 4000 diesel and it had a 2 meter mounted
on the left compartment where the acess to the electrical breakers are.
Behind the radio he had a nonconductive material placed to prevent shorts. I
am interested in getting my ham license and got the book Now Your Talking. I
have not gotten far enough in it yet for the first test. I have a Icom car 2m
and handheld 2 meter both with the keypads. I figure that for traveling an
hour to work each day in a car that has 129,00 miles on it in 1990 when the
speedo broke that it might be of service. I guessing but the car probably is
approching 250 k.   >>
