Bob,

I have found the same thing through experiimentatiion on the autox 
course.  If I am on a long (for autox) straight going into a heavy 
breaking area, I lock the diffs on the straight and unlock whiile trail 
braking into the corner, after the majoriity of the breaking is done.  
This can be very tricky at times, but it is worth practicing ;-)
