Re: MPG down, HP down
The obvious things to check :
1. O2 sensor operation.
2. Air filter breathing, new air filter perhaps is needed.
3. Leaky or clogged fuel injectors, clean the injectors with a fuel additive
of the concentrated variety.
4. Check those spark plugs, does one appear fouled of the group or do they
need replacing ?
5. Check for any fuel leaks in the fuel delivery system from the tank all the
way up to the injectors. Also has the fuel filter been changed at proper
intervals ?
If all the above checkout OK then we must probe deeper...
a. The cold start valve could be leaking gasoline resulting in rich mixture
and poor mpg. The cold start valve should only enrich fule mixture at start
time.
b. Poor spray pattern from the injectors, gotta pull them and check each of
them.
c. poor timing - must check the timing....
If you need more help then feel free to ask.....
