Todd I agree with you Whole heartedly!

Many of you folks know how I relax. I race in IMSA (Camel lights are
fun!) And I can stop those cars with my foot flat on the gas.... Just
like my Q. I also instruct for the likes of Skip Barber and others (I
teach the instructors to teach also....) And in the time that I have been
racing and teaching I have yet to see a car drive it's self into a wall
or another car. These cars are not Christine. They are blunt
instruments that ONLY do what you ask them to. These people that ran
into there garages for the most part were "Conquest" owners meaning that
used to own for the most part GM products, and the STOOD on the gas when
they thought they were on the brakes. Even with the NHTSA tried to rig a
tranny by applying over 500psi to one of the control valves in the
slushbox the car could still be stopped with the brakes. If you want to
find out for yourself go find a nice STRAIGHT road that's pretty long and
empty. Accelerate to 60mph and stop the car as fast as you can and
measure the distance. Do this again but this time when your on the
brakes stand on the gas.... The diference will be about ONE car
length......

Later!
