Strange noise still
I recently posted a message about a strange sound in the transmission of
my '91 200 Q. I checked the things that several members told me about.
They are all fine/in good condition. Maybe I can better describe the
noise. It is a bearing growl in 1st, 2nd, and part of 3rd gear. The
noise subsides when the clutch is depressed and when the car is in
neutral. I am pretty sure it is a bearing noise. I called Ned today and
he said that he has to replace the bearings in his 200 Q every week
almost, but his car is running at about 400 HP. He said that it isn't
very likely that the bearings would go out so soon in a non-modified
'91. Does anybody have any further thoughts or suggestions? Has anybody
every changed out the bearings before and has some tips? Thanx.
