RE: Transmission mods?
Sounds interesting. What gear ratio would that give (what is the current
one? I think it is 0.84:1), and what is the RPM jump? Would the RPM change
be similar to the 3-4 one? Would you need to rev the engine more in 4th to
avoid lugging in 5th than you do in 3rd to avoid lugging in 4th? Joltswagen
offered a higher 5th (like this) for GTIs when I had my '83, cause it revved
so high on the hiway.
BTW, no experience working inside the tranny other that vicariously in the
Bentley. Do the new individual gears fit inside the case (ie how do the
diameters and lengths compare)?
