Fact. Rep tells all!

Through my job I met a sales rep for Audi, who dispelled some rumours and
told of things to come. Here's the synopsis:
New A6 for 1998 model year
The A3 will NOT be sold here, except as a VW variant with VW powertrain
No twin turbo V6 is likely to ever see our shores
A4 turbo is coming this fall. It will have it's own four cyl. engine (not a
VW 2.0), has a smaller turbo for less lag, is intercooled, and is expected to
put out at least the same hp as the current 2.8 V6. This powertrain will be
available in the A4 with all permutations of stick/auto and quattro. A fwd
"sport" model is planned for those who can't afford the full-blown quattro
(like me), and it is to be priced around 21-22k.
Expect an ignition system recall on the 80/90 very soon--apparently cars have
been turning up with bad chips, causing bad driveability problems.
I didn't have a lot of time to talk with this individual, but I have his name
and number, and may be lucky enough to pump him for more info later :)
