Club benefits

All Quattro-ites

I would like to know exactly what benefits that people are getting from club
memberships. Ther has been a lot of Qclub bashing, and I would like to know
what people are getting from other clubs. I personally belong to the QCLUB,
the local chapter of the BMW club, & was a member of the porsche club.

People have stated that the only thing they get for their QCLUB mbrshp. is a
slick magazine & the privelege of attending events. For my BMW membership, I
receive 2 magazines (one slick & one not so slick) and the privelege of
attending their events. When I was a member of the Porsche club I received 2
magazines (both slick) and the privelege of attending their events. My
questions is, What do you expect? What do you want. I know, I know, a
financial disclosure, I think the point has been made. The purpose of any
club is to get people with a common interest together. All the national car
clubs provide a base for this, but if you want anything more, you have to put
yourselves out, get off your asses and get something going in your area.

The clubs don't put on events, the members do. The clubs just supply the
mechanics to accomplish that goal. To all who said that the events are too
expensive, GOOD observation. Cheaper events will not happen until people
like us go out and find a cheaper venue. It is not any club's
responsibility, it is the individuals who belong to the clubs. The Glen
price is what it is. Because of the costs, it will never be cheap. The
price is right in line with the other club events at that track. I did a
little research yesterday, and found that the club prices for 2 day events at
the Glen run from $235 to $285. The for profit groups get between $175 &
$250 PER DAY. The price is high, but it is worth it. Your Audi's are
expensive, but you have them because they are worth it. The general rule
is, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

As far as the Qclub is concerned, we all have questions. But when all is
said & done, I DON"T GIVE A RATS ASS. My goal is & has been to put on a
first class event at the Glen. I do this for myself and the members, not
"The Club".

Thanks for letting me vent guys.
