Paul,

	Anything you can do to reduce restriction in the exhaust system 
will increase performance.  Probably the best compromise would be a 2.5" 
pipe from the cat back, and a Flowmaster/Dynomax or something similar in 
the back to keep things quiet.  You could do a 3" from the turbo back, 
with a 3" high flow cat.  :-)
