Tire Wear

Hi,
I'm a little new at this but have a reocurring problem with my 1988 80 quatro.
 It eats it rear tire (goodyear eagle gt II) on the inside.  The most recent
case ate the tire to the cord in approximately 1000 miles.  The wear is always
on the inside edge of the tire always in the rear.  It has been aligned front
and rear regularly.  I am on the ski patrol so it does get a lot of winter
heavy weather driving.  Help I'm tired of buying tires.
