More Boost

Greetings gret Audi minds. I have a quandry that hopefully you can
alleviate. I got one of Charlie's waste gate springs last Fall. Whoooopi
doooopi! Lots of fun, but that annoying over boost protection has got to
go. Iknow, I know, ground the wire from the ECU. But that eliminates all
protection.

I was reading the schrapnelknobben report again tonight, wondering if that
could be the answer to my quest. There was mention of a voltage divider
installed in the ECU to cut the voltage from the boost sensor to the ECU.
This was for a MAC-2 on an 84 TQC. Would this type of approach work on an
86 5kcstq as well? There was also mention of a zener diode in this same
circuit. Where would the diode go?

Has anyone tried the voltage divider/diode set up? If so, what kind of
success have you had? Do you still have overboost protection? Do you still
get the fuel pump shut off if the engine dies or does the pump keep running?
This is one of the major reasons I don't want to just ground the ECU pin.
That and I don't feel I'm financially able to launch pistons through the
hood at theis time.

Any help/insight on this issue is apprecated.
