Yes, it is actually referenced (obscurely I might add) in the Bentley
manuals.....  It is a warning not to go after bearing sounds (btdt) cuz the
cause may be the FI's....  Also, it could be the no 1 exh stud broke, or
lifters, all of which prolly don't warrant further investment......    Just
the audi gods tapping their pencils, figgrn you might ante up some more cash
