89 quattro hard starting

My 89 quattro has begun being hard to start,usually from cold in the mornings

but when you have left it for 30 min. or more it will take quite  LONG CRANKING

PERIOD and then it will be rough for a while as if it is flooded. for a while

is just for a few seconds.  I have been putting Techron in the tank every 1000

miles and it had started fine, but it started this more or less suddenly.  It

would be appreciated if I could have some suggestions.
