Re: more boost




The really issue here to my mind is performance not safety.
I have safely run a clamp circuit like peter describes.
I have also run various voltage dividers, safely.  The 
difference is the voltage divider gives substantially 
better performance.  Now Ned uses a single resistor.
I like to use two, so I know I am limiting current.
This seems prudent, considering how hard the transducer
is to replace.  This would appear to be no simple transducer.
I suspect it has active components inside to provide offset.
If you study the dynamic impeadance you will see that it
shows only 125 ohms when powered.
