OK I can answer this one.  I spent 11 bucks at the hydraulics shop for a 
little 0-15psi regulator.  I removed the wastegate solenoid, and put the 
regulator in place of it.  I turned the knob until I got 18psi, and I put 
a wire between the T terminal and the chassis.  I agree, it's not 
perfectly "safe" and I am taking my chances with the motor, but I would 
be taking chances with my motor with anyone's mods at 18 psi, so I don't 
really see much difference.

Being Canadian, we try to disassociate ourselves from the mother country, 
so I don't really know what knickers and socks have to do with it :-)
