'88 5kCSTQ (106k mi) stalling/trying to stall 
during idling. This started when I drove it to almost
empty tank. Could it be due to fuel filter being clogged
with the dirty gas it sucked in? I bought the car @94k miles
and have not replaced the filter, and I do not know when it
was replaced last. 

The car has stalled twice so far. Both the times after stalling
the BRAKE warning light came on. The power steering pump has
been replaced 2 months ago, and there is enough pentosin
in the reservoir. This is the reason I thought the reason may
not be as simple as fuel filter. 

The second time it stalled (15 min. ago), it did not start
for couple of minutes after stalling. I could hear the attempt
to crank, but it just didn't start for a couple of minutes.

Any guesses? Thanks a lot.
