Re: GT power window reg. problem

The local Audi dealer here has in the past stocked a smallcable clamp
made to fit the window regulator. It was a cheap fix but would last
untill the the motor or cable went. I don't know if they still have
them or not. They called it a "Window regulator repair kit".

Yep, I have *exactly* the same problem on my '85 5KT: I haven't
been able to come up with a fix. I did try epoxy, and I can
tell you that it doesn't work. Some brazing/welding process might
work, or I was wondering if I could get hold of a little metal piece
to clamp on to the cable with a set-screw: maybe something from
	a bicycle shop.

I'm told you can get a redesigned replacement with a worm gear
drive for $125 or so -- I just forget which vendor it was that
offered it. Joe Garibaldi, are you reading this?

Let me know if you find out anything useful.
