I wonder if this is the same prob that my v8 has developed since the
original question was raised? Travelling at a constant speed above about
50mph, it will occaisionally have a hiccup, which produces a thud through
the drivetrain. It feels like a momemtary loss of power, much faster than
you can reproduce with the throtle. It certainly makes you aware of the
amount of slop in the drivetrain. It does produce a momentary drop in revs
shown on the tacho, prob 50 or so. It happens so fast, that its hard to
catch on the guage, its taken nearly a week of dangerous driving to catch
it.
At first I thought it to be the box disengaging, but the drop in revs would
seem to contradict this. I'm now of the opinion that this is evidence of
the Ausi gods being confused by the cat being in the southern hemisphere &
that this is really a downunder surge problem!
The car is going in on Friday tohasve the auto/diff seal replaced &
hopefully the varios black boxes will tell all.
