I have done this job several times on my couple (84).
I built a few tools to help. Took about 40 hours the
first time, bout 16 the second. I built some alignment
tools made from bolts with correct metric threading to
help align it upon reinstall. Don't make them too long,
or you have interference with the rack and the top of the
trany. Remember to lubricate the the shaft for the throw out
bearing. Also follow adjustment procedures meticulously or you
could break that 10c spring that holds the TO bearing on, and
have to take it all apart again! The other tool I build was
a wooden platform to add on to my hydraulic jack. It turned
it into a cheapo tranny stand.
