Multi-function sender - new failure mode?

Hi all. I seem to have experienced a new failure mode for the
multi-function sender: Temp gauge works fine, but the two other
signals (one for the auto-check overheat warning, and one for
the overheat shutdown for the A/C compressor) are both grounded
permanently. Seems I replaced this thing not too long ago...

Symptoms: Auto-check overheat indication, and no compressor
operation. (pretty sure there is really only one thermo-switch
in the thing, wired to both of these signals.)

Anyone seen this one before?
