... and some of that is the testing that went into making sure it works ...
I can read in the chip, change one strategically located bit or two and
put it back together so that a comparison would show that there is a
difference and call it a chip mod. From what I've heard others say it
sounds as though scaling the boost input to the ECU does cause a shift
in timing ... given that to be the case then it sounds pretty much as
advertised.
I wish we could get off this INANE symantical argument! I could as easily
argue that there is a "chip" of silicon in the zener diode ... Sumbitch,
we got us a chip mod! Perhaps it is because I'm and EE, but I don't see
much of an argument here ... the ECU is a SYSTEM ... that precious EPROM
is useless in and of itself (especially without resistors :), as long as
the vendor has done enough homework to provide a product that produces the
claimed benefit and has been tested well enough so that I can be assured
that I am not assuming undue risk by installing it and supports his custo-
mers why would I be anything but happy?
Perhaps we should all go out for a Quattro Drive (tm) this weekend! :-)
And a good weekend is wished to all!
