A/C clutch, fixable? or just replace ?

The symptoms.... as you may remember from a post a while back :-)

Turn on the A/C and maybe the compressor kicks in and maybe not....

The Fix......(sorta...)

When the A/C don't kick in, quick tap with a rubber mallet on the clutch
and it catches and we get A/C :-)  wife say's this workaround is not
acceptable :-)  I tried..... :-(

So, the question is, can I take this thing off and clean and lube or
am I kidding myself and should I just replace the clutch ? 

Can I replace just the clutch ?  how much for the part ?
