Tires for A4Q

I'm trying to decide what type of tires to upgrade to for my A4Q.  I know, I 
know, it is really early, but I am trying to place funds away for :suspension, 
throttle body and tires that I won't touch....you know, hide it under the bed, 
etc. 
I want to stay with the stock rims, but go to a 50 series tire at 215.  Will 
215's fit on the stock rim?  Any suggestions on type, because I have found it 
hard to find 215 50s.  Is this a weird size, one that doesn't work because the 
increase in aspect ratio and width doesn't match?  In addition, though I am 
partial to Pirellis and HATE Goodyear, any other suggestions?  Thanks a lot!
