Short throw shifter part and struts shocks and springs?

Hello friends,

Well, this AM while having new rear calipers installed (the old ones
were each freezing in a different mode); I figured I may as well do new pads
all the way around and, of course, bleed the whole system and the clutch while
I'm at it. I also took the opportunity to install the 200 shift linkage piece
in my 5kCSQ. This installation was a "bear"!! Part of it is best done from
underneath the vehicle and part from inside the engine compartment. There is an
improvement in the length of the "throw"; it is no longer "trucklike", but
neither is it Lotus Elan S1 short. The dreaded 2cd to 3rd is no longer a
fingertip manuever if you don't want to lean forward, but Acura Integra GS-R
drivers will not envy the crispness of my gear changes. For $40+ and 40 minutes
of lift time it is up to you; the parts ARE different, the newer part is
shorter, thus the movement is shorter.

While I was at it the timing belt was inspected and found to be due a
replacement. So I may as well do all the belts and the water pump. Also my
struts and shocks are going away.

On the matter of struts and shocks, from listening carefully over the
last year, at least when I'm around, it appears that the Eibach springs and
Koni adjustables are the combination of choice. My question here is do the
Eibachs lower the car so much that "bump steer" will result and snow clearance
will be compromised. And if I'm not going to be seriously thrashing the car
around am I better off just installing Koni's with the existing springs?? What
about the Boge Pro Gas or turbo gas pro or whatever they are called??!! I have
been away since January, things might have changed...

						As always,
							 happy motoring,
