What I did on our S6 was to drive it in the manner I wanted the car
to be used in. In other words, sometimes light on the gas, sometimes
WFO. Didn't spend alot of time at either extreme. Always made sure
that I didn't shut the car off immediately after a WFO session.
Changed the oil and filter at 500 miles to remove the big pieces and
then again at 1000. After that it's 2500 mile intervals. I wouldn't
worry too much about the non-engine lube, e.g. the transmission, diffs,
etc. as they will have magnetic plugs. Change 'em when you feel like.
Our car now has almost 10K on it. Runs great at all throttle positions
and doesn't use a drop. Gets smoother by the mile.
BTW - my enduro racer/commuter motorcycle recommends this sort of
breakin (they also recommend _synthetic_ oil)
