Temp. Sending Unit??

Howdy all,

     Just got a box containing my new hood release cable and temp sending
unit for my ' 86 4KCSQ.  Thank god I was tired of getting underneath with a
really long screwdriver to perform maintenance!  But I got a question, where
is the sending unit on this car?  I found something called the temp switch in
the manual and it looks like what I have.  So is this unit a multi function
or what?? Thanks guys!
