re:Dead Battery => ANGRY WIFE
Had the similar problem a few months ago. With each additional accessory, the
voltage would drop. Which I believe is normal. But.. the battery wasn't
charging. I had the suspicion that it was just a loose alternator belt, and
being tooless up here at school, I swung it over to the shop. He hooked it up
to a voltmeter and monitored the voltage which was a little low, but
substantial enough to maintain a charge on the battery. He then tightened it a
bit and we both watched as the voltage jumped from around 11v to 14v or so. But
yours seems to be already maintaining 14v.
IMHO: Although it's troublesome to yank out the battery, perhaps you
should consider having it tested. It's usually free and seems the next
logical step in diagnosing the problem. When was the last time it was replaced?
Good luck.
