Registering Car in NM

I just bought a car in New Mexico, now I have to get it back to Connecticut. CT
is so screwed up with their registration rules, it's going to be a long time
(about 3 to 4 weeks) until I get the plates (20 day temps) to drive it back.

Does anyone on the list live in NM and know if you can get a temporary plate to
drive it back to CT?
