I have the 1986 Commemorative Design direct mail advertising package from
Audi. I also have the Commemorative art print of the 1986 5000CS.
According to the literature the The Commemorative Design 4000CS features
included:
Aero alloy wheels, Alcantara suede-like upholstery with leather
bolstering in Sierra Beige, plus Sierra Beige leatherette door panel
inserts, AM/FM cassette radio, Choice of std or auto shift, Front sports
seats, Graphite instrument panel, carpeting and trim, leather wrapped
steering wheel, plush logo-embroidered carpet floor mats, Tilt/Slide
sunroof.
The 4000CS Quattro Commemorative design had:
Color-keyed spoked alloy wheels with Alpine White exterior (natural metal
finish (???!, that's what it says) with extra cost Graphite exterior),
Instrument panel, carpeting and trim in Graphite, Plush logo-embroidered
carpet floor mats Red leather upholstery and red leatherette door panel
inserts, and tilt/slide sunroof.
I remember that the designation 'CS' was used for the Commemorative trim.
Just appointments, nothing mechanical is special for the Commemoratives.
I also have Commemorative appointments on the 5000CS and Coupe GT if
anyone is interested.
