Can you repair Ac hoses?

I'd like to know if it is possible to repair my Ac hose.  On my 90, the
high pressur hose from the condensor to compressor is bad.  The spot
where the rubber meets the metal line is seperated or pulled back.  Service
manager told me to buy a hose (of course).  Parts guy told me to go across
the street to get it fixed, recrimped or whatever.  They couldn't begin
to look at till Thursday.  But, of course there are other places I am sure.
Is it possible to get this done and if so, how much should it run?
