Does anyone know of any research into Airbag lifespans. How long do they
last
in the wheel? How does one know that a car 7 years old has a functional bag
(um.. er.. someone like me for example). For that matter, how about
seatbelt
 material...

Randy,

Some time ago I read an article in an automotive enthusiast magazine that
said the life expectancy of the average air bag (no, not you dear...) was 10
years. I don't remember the magazine, but it seems their reference was Volvo
or MB (flickering brain cell).

First it was Ox sensors @ 30Kmi.(found in the fine print of factory manuals,
not many owners manuals). Major tune ups @ 100Kmi. Now air bags @ 10 yrs.
And OBDIII in the near future...GAWD, used car ownership is gonna be pricey
in the future! Is that you BIG BROTHER?
