Hillclimb Revisited

This is just a quick note to say that it was a pleasure to meet
all the folks on the list and others who made it up for the Mt.
Washington Hillclimb. I want to publicly thank Mr. Powell for making
this an even that I will never forget. Thanks to him, instead of
watching cars taking off from the base at the bottom I found myself red
flagging the Saturday morning practice sessions from 5k feet as a car
rolled just 100 yds. past my corner (not that the accident was good, mind
you, but that I became responsible for the safety of other competitors).
I also wanted to say that everyone involved with the event was very
helpful and friendly to an amateur like myself.....It made me want to
join the SCCA and take this up on a regular basis. Typical of the day
was when I asked John Buffim (sp?) for his autograph and my pen would
embarrassingly not write....John says: "I've got a pen in my car, I'll
swing by on my way out of the parking lot" and he did. Thanks again for
the opportunity of working and meeting all of you. I look forward to our
next informal outing.

PS: I worked corner 19 on Sunday...it rained, it sleeted, the temp
hovered around 45-55 degrees and the wind buffeted us in our exposed
position with 25-50mph winds.....it was wet, cold, and bone chilling. IT
WAS GREAT!!!!!!!

PPS: I saw a very nice 1984 QTC, white with 107K miles, in North Conway
 for sale...no price..but phone is 508-263-1070
