I and the service tech were both convinced it would be a simple switch
adjustment. The mechanic looked at it and adjusting the switch made no
difference. He did further diagnosis and discovered that the pressure
accumulator would leak slowly. I guess there's more intelligence than
I thought behind that light.

As for bomb!, it's just another name for the pressure accumulator. The
bomb! provides the boost you need for power brake operation, hence the
reference. I also guess that the older ones actually looked like a
bomb as well. (dunno fer sure)
