Audi Vendor List/Hood chips

My Audi's hood has these barely visible chips that I wish were not present.  They're probably from kamikaze bugs smacking themselves on to the pearl white paint.

Is there any protective coating I an apply to the hood that can prevent further such damage?  I am considering using a medium cut cleaner to hopefully rid the hood of these blemishes.

Also, I placed an order through Clair Audi (noted on the vendor list) for some tune up parts.  They charged $5 per air filter, but today I found out they're not OEM.  They're actually labelled 'CHAMP' and appear to be of decent quality actually.

Can anyone provide feedback on this brand air filter?
