I think the price drop was a combination of two things. There was a
slight juggling of standard features to lower the list price. For
example, I'm not absolutely sure but I don't think leather was
standard on the 95 A6's. But another factor was that Audi lowered
prices so that they were more in line with what the cars had actually
been selling for. My 92 100 CSQW ($41K list) actually sold new for
$36K in Sept. 1992 according to the documentation I received with the
car.
