I got the Escort Solo 4 - no cord at all - battery powered and it works great.
This is no help unless you are in the market for a new detector but I thought I
would share it.
BTW: Damark has a great deal on the Solo 4 - $99.99 - it's remanufactured but
carries a full warranty and looks new. (I do have an interest in Damark - they
will be my employer on July 3 - I got mine with prior to this and they are a
good company.)
