The previous owner had wired the low and medium speed control together on
the resistor plate (bad plate). That made my fan run on medium with AC on
and after run. Plus my after-run thermoswitch (next to upper rad hose) was
bad, and the after run would come on when it felt like it and run the
battery down. Plus the after-run electronic relay was bad in the electric
cooling pump control section, so although the fan would come on, the pump
wouldn't run, so all I really cooled was the radiator. About the time I was
sorting this out and replacing a bad PS hose, I broke the snout off the
electric cooling pump while leaning over it. That doesn't include the upper
hose blowing, the heater control valve blowing, or the radiator vent line
blowing. Come to think of it - there ain't much there I haven't replaced!
