Joe,
I would go see Audi first, because it is easier for them to supply
a low mileage tranny out of a development car than to pay you money. AT
GM, they do this. If someone gripes enough, they send them a new motor or
tranny from a stockpile that is fed by discarded development cars. MOst
have less than 10,000 miles, and are in very good shape. They cost
nothing to GM, so it isn't too hard to get them to part with one, even if
you are out-of-warranty. It may be the same at Audi.
