window spool, grrrrrr

OK, to be specific about my power window reg. problems on my 87 5000s.  
Heres where I need some help:  The cable on the driver side window broke, 
well, when a friend and I took it apart to see what happened it was quite 
obvious....
	The yellow spool (plastic of course) that the cable wraps around was 
broken/cracked and the cable had been catching on it so what I really 
need is the spool.  We did try replacing it with the spool off of the 
rear window regulator, and that worked for a day or so but now my car is 
in the driveway with the window open cause I didn't feel like pulling the 
door apart on the 4th of July.  Thank god I live in california!

	any suggestions would be appreciated, also my sunroof is all f---- up, 
just happenned recently, i dont even want to go into it but its bad this 
time I can tell.
