From Canada Newswire: Canadian Audi sales up.

VOLKSWAGEN CANADA'S AUDI DIVISION JUNE SALES UP 156.1%!

AJAX, Ont., July 5 /CNW/ - Volkswagen Canada's Audi division had
another strong month with sales of 169 units, an increase of 156.1%
over June 1995. The A4 sport sedan which quickly became one of
Europe's most popular luxury-sport sedans is achieving the same
recognition in Canada. June sales of A4s reached 139 units.

Volkswagen sales slipped slightly, down 0.4% from June 1995 in
part due to shortages of popular summer season vehicles such as the
Golf Cabrio. The Jetta maintained its strong position, posting sales
of 1,352 units, up 92% from June 1995.

Much of the Jetta's sales success can be attributed to the
limited edition Jetta Trek - the first car that attaches an
exclusively designed mountain bike and roof rack to its standard
equipment list. Jetta Trek has sparked the interest of consumers
looking for fun and practicality in an affordable package.

Audi is enthusiastically awaiting the introduction of the
``Flagship'' model A8 to the North American public after receiving
rave reviews from the automotive press in Europe. The A8 which will
be available in Canada this fall, has all-wheel drive and an aluminum
``space-frame'' which keeps the weight comparable to that of a
smaller two wheel drive vehicle.
