GALA stands for "Gods of Audi Loudness Adjustment", as only the
Audi Gods actually know how and why it works; to the rest of us,
it just seems like another case of unintended attenuation.
Seriously, it's a feature on the Delta radio that increases the
radio volume as the vehicle speed increases. It works fine,
though there are two main problems with it:
1) It is, of course, adjustable. This implies a set of complicated
adjustments which, in turn, implies that the average person will
never bother enabling it. It's just too confusing.
2) The Audi A4 is a very quiet vehicle. Road noise isn't always
the controlling background noise. GALA should really be hooked
in with the climate control, so that when the fan decides to
go to max, the radio volume gets bumped by 60dB or so.
