90Q Question.

Something really strange is happening to my sisters 89 90Q. There is a
really loud 'chirp' coming from the front of the engine.....that we cant
seem to isolate.

I removed the accessory belts, and it is still there, so that rules out
PS/alternator/AC. We replaced the timing belt, water pump and idler
bearing. STill there. I did notice however that timing belt tension
affects the sound. Does this sound familiar to anyone? What else can it
be? Oil pump?? (That CANT be easy to replace...is it??) Main bearing??!?!
It sounds like its from the front center...not like the cam or anything.

Other than that, the car runs flawlessly.
Any input appreciated...

Bob
