RE: A4 1.8T

Sorry to switch the subject...I just found out the 1996 A4Q is ordered
in May will be a 1997 now. According to my dealer, Audi is not building
anymore 1996 5-speed Quattros (I have my doubts, but that's what the
dealer said) and that I will have to wait until mid-August to ??? for a
1997 version.

I did receive a new spec. sheet (just colors and options) for the 2.8L
V6.

A few new colors:
 -Sable Brown Mica
 -Bamboo Metallic
-Cactus Green Mica (any different than the current Emerald Green??)

Also available is the 6-function trip computer (for those gadget
lovers).

A few of the stand alone options have become a package....

-the ski sack is included as a part of the all weather package
-the Sunroof and remote locking options make another optional package.

My dealer said the new prices have not been released.

'96?? or '97?? or '9???? A4Q??
'93 Honda Civic (great gas mileage and reliability [81k w/o a problem],
but a VERY boring car)

OK, new rumours - well, actually quoted from the Ordering Book :-)

There will be an A4 1.8T available in the States in Sept-Oct 96. It will
come with 5sp or auto, FWD or quattro in all 4 combos, although the 5sp
is a "delayed introduction" ("my" salesman thought maybe 60 days or so).

Other options available will be:

 - Bose stereo (bleah!)
 - Power roof
 - Remote locking
 - Weather package (with the ski sack included here)
 - Sports package: 16" wheels, sport front seats and sport steering
wheel

The options may be packaged together - he didn't say. There wil be no
leather available and 15" wheels will be standard.

Oh, and the 6-function computer is coming back. Yeah!

Price should be around $2,000 below the current base V6 price which will
probably go up to $27,5, putting the 1.8T base price at $25.5.

So what does that put a 1.8T with the quattro and sports package at?
$25,500 + $1,500 + what, $1,500 = $28,000 MSRP. Tasty :-)
