4kq brake problem
Hi,
I finally replaced the leaking master cylinder on my 4kq. Thanks to
everyone who shared their experiences and opinions. I used a turkey
baster (big syringe) to remove all of the brake fluid that leaked into
the brake vacuum servo. I bled the car and the brakes worked
great...until a couple of days ago. I noticed that every once in a while
the brake pedal is hard to depress and get little or no brake action. If
I keep my foot on the pedal, the brakes come back to life. It reminds me
of the feeling I got when the "bomb" goes bad. Could it be that there is
a leak in the brake servo or could it be bad?
There are no hydraulic leaks but could the proportioning valve fail in
such a way to cause this problem.
Once again, your help is appreciated.
Paul Waterloo, if you read this, I'm interested in your Q outing.
