Had the same problem on my 4KSQ. Where the shift rod for the Trans
connects to it. There is a ball and socket that turns the side to side
movement of the shift lever into side to side movement at the trans. The
ball had loosened up. A quick mig weld later and we were in business. I
mayy be all wet on this one as I am uncertain what the shift linkage
looks like on the 5KCSTQW.
