stop a car with power disk brakes and no power assist?  Unless you are
Schwartzenegger, you'll find it very difficult.  

Taint always true! Some cars come from the factory with non-assisted disc brakes, my 73 RA-IV 455HO Firebird is an example. I would not want it any other way. GREAT pedal feel and modulation at/near lockup and tons of room under the hood w/no AC too.
It's really an issue of cars designed with power assist requiring very high pedal effort when that assist is not available combined with the fact that *most* disc brake cars also have power assist.
