RE: Bomb Warning removal
All this discussion reminded me of Smokey Yunick's ol' Trans Am Camaro from
the early Seventies. This was the one that passed tech inspection but was so
radical that they banned it anyway.
Anyway, he came up with the idea that it was no fun losing power assist when
the engine blew in a race car (definitely a pain on a GM!), so he fabricated
a power takeoff on the transmission and ran the PS pump off there. Viola! As
long as the car moves you have steering. What an engineer! Too bad he didn't
work for Audi.
Some other Smokey tricks:
Build yer engine to run backwards to get the correct 'lean' in the curves on
a track car.
Grind the cam to run on 7 cylinders and use the 8th as a supercharger.
When faced with fuel cell size restrictions, run 22ft of 1.5" fuel hose
throughout the car.
Drop a V6 in a Chevette using all GM parts.
And Toyota thought they were slick with their wastegate mod!
